No Justice For The Victims of The Opioid Crisis (Fixed Audio)
All across the country, the Opioid Crisis is in full swing. It has taken the lives of 200,000 Americans and destroyed the lives of millions. One of the companies responsible, Purdue Pharmaceuticals, has filed Chapter 11 Bankruptcy. Owned by The Sackler Family, who filed to sell off the company to pay the lawsuit debts off, will seemingly escape without much punishment.
It will only cost them 3 billion of their personal wealth. They will not serve jail time. They will not be punished for the lives they have taken all in the name of profit. All too often this is how things play out when big pharma pushes harmful drugs, based on corrupt science, advertised on tv, on the population. Then when it all goes wrong, they pay out some of their profit in court and move on to the next company and drug to continue the cycle. This needs to end. I believe there should be criminal prosecution when a company causes harm to the population, with corrupt practices, manipulated science and unethical profiteering.
