Day 4 of the Fat Fast Plus Today's Video About Keto vs Low Fat High Carb
186.4 lbs 35.75 inches 91 hours Fat Fasted
Should you do a Fat Fast? I am noticing a lot of people attempting it and not making it through the fast. Haven't got much feedback on why they dropped out. Keep in mind you should be well fed going into the fat fast. You should also be fat adapted and not addicted to sugar and carbs. Stick with Keto for a while first before attempting it. It is NOT for carb burners, as you will not be able to efficiently use fat as fuel until you become adapted which can take from 4 to 6 weeks on strict keto with no cheat days.
That being said, no issues yet here on day four. Metabolism seems fine, dispite only getting 4 hours of sleep (which I believe has lead to som water retention). I had to drive someone to the airport at 3am. I will try to nap a little later, but want to get my work done first. I hit 1000 calories yesterday, as I had an extra serving of 100% Cacao Chocolate during a hunger pang at the 80 hour mark. The first hunger pang of the fast, and it went away within 15 minutes of eating the chocolate. I also had 2 servings of Pecans one in the afternoon and another late evening. I salted one of the meals, the other meal I sweetened with Stevia/Erythritol and a little bit of Cinnamon (an awesome treat btw). The rest was Heavy Cream in my coffee aka Fat.
The above video was by request from a $50 contributor to the tip jar. He was pointing out an article which questions High Fat Low Carb and Keto vs Low Fat High Carb based on insulin resistant individuals. The article contends that Low Fat High Carb has better results for individuals with normal Glycemic control (aka insulin sensitive). I completely disagree with that and the video covers the flaws in the article and some of the supporting studies the article sites as proof. It is a long video, so I will give it time to digest, however I will be live streaming tomorrow around 4pm Eastern Time. The topic will be Fat Fasting as I will be at the 5 day mark, which is the recommended length for a fat fast. I will hopefully hear from people who also did a fat fast, as I have seen in the comments many people attempting it.
