5 Day Fat Fasting Results and a New Low Weight PR For ME
184.4 lbs 35.25 inches 112 hours fat fasted.
I just gotta say how impressed I am with the results of the five day fat fast. Don't panic still heading to seven days, but five days is what the FMD would call for once per month (which I think would be very easy). On day one at 17 hours I was 193.7 lbs with a 36.25 inch belly, just slightly over my goal measurement. Losing 9.3 lbs in five days is unexpected, astonishing and really tells us something about eating fat lighting the fires of ketosis and increasing our BMR so that when that fat runs out, we burn more of our own fat. Not bad for very little hunger during the fast.
Speaking of hunger, did have a slight, and I do mean slight hunger pang at 4pm yesterday. I had the 100% cacoa Chocolate with a splenda natural packet dumped on it and hunger gone. 1 to 2 servings max if you do this. Don't want to go over on protein or carbs. The rest was just my usual heavy cream and twice a day coffee. Around 700-800 calories for the day in mostly fat. less than 30 calories in protein and carbs. No hunger yet today, and I am curious because many long water fasters tell me that day 5 hunger disappears for a while. Curious if that will be the case today, I will talk about it on tonight's live stream, which I am shooting for 4pm Eastern Time.
I estimate my weight hitting 182 lbs by the end of the fast. The ease of this fast means it will be a part of my tool belt. Something this easy with these results has to be in my arsenal of health and weight loss. The true results will come after the refeed, which should be smooth and simple since I will really just be adding some protein and carbs back into the mix, since digestion has never really shut down on this fast. How much I will regain when eating normal keto for 7 days with no intentional fasting will determine if this is a thing. If I don't gain much weight it may be unnecessary to do another fat fast the following week, which given these results, may be too extreme for my level of body fat. Don't want to get too thin, and shit.
No significant drop in energy this week and my mood couldn't be better. Experienced an energy dip yesterday, but it was short and quickly rebounded. Today I feel almost euphoric (another thing reported by long water fasters). Going this well, I am starting to wonder if I should bother with long water fasts in the future.
