Comment of the day... Thought I would share it
This is part of the problem (see image above). We need to realize that many of the dietary, and healthcare guidelines place economic interests ahead of health interests. The data is there, if we dig for it ourselves. People want to dispute, based on guidelines done with biased meta-analysis, instead of clinical data, or real hard science. Unfortunately, science is not immune to the bias, and influence of industry on these health-related guidelines.
You think the sugar industry didn't set up some studies to promote “eat less, move more/high-carb/low-fat diets? What would happen to the sugar industry if they didn't? Bottom line, there are enough of us trying this on ourselves, and the data from doctors, who are using this to treat patients, is indisputable. People are ignoring the guidelines, and getting healthier. Imagine that, given the guidelines are what got us into this mess. How can people not see this?
